Shape dimensions are nominal AISC values for identification and hook bolt selection. They are not a substitute for structural design — runway beam sizing, rail attachment and fastener capacity should be confirmed by the engineer of record. Hook bolt quantities assume one bolt per foot of rail on each of two rails. A rail base wider than the surface it sits on is a normal arrangement — the hook bolt bears vertically between the rail base and the flange or channel back. Questions on a shape you do not see here?
